Fix Stage Completed!
So get ready peeps. For the FIRST TIME EVER! Are the pics of the INSIDE of the house! YAY!
How excitement :)

Here I am, standing right out the front. I haven't ever been this close to the house before.

The bathroom. It's a bit tiny, but shaping up quite good.

The view from the master bedroom, upstairs. How weird to see the main driveway from this perspective. I like. I like a lot! It's like seeing a small city being built :)

The staircase leading upstairs.... who said stairs can't be interesting, look how interesting this one is! :P

First time view of the back yard. No fences have gone up yet but I think it will look pretty good once landscaping is all done. Small but manageable size, hopefully, no grass cos this girl no likey mowing the lawn.

The kitchen. Good size. But makes the meals area a bit small.... cute.

View of the garage from the inside of the house

The hallway view

I asked the site supervisor how much longer they expect to finish it all. He reckons they will finish in 2 parts. One half should be completed by Christmas, and the other half probably by end of Jan 2011. Apparently they have had delays with the power company not installing something that will give them much needed power. BASTARD power company :(  Boo to you.

And the other thing holding them up is all this much needed rain that we're getting. Rain tends to have this ability to hold up construction works.... oh well. We do need the wet.

Our own independent building inspector has gone through and checked the place out, overall he reckons it's not too bad, however there are some major issues which he will outline in his report to us... these 'issues' could also delay the completion by a few weeks... so let's see how our builder deals with all that.

So yeah, it's so close I can almost imagine my furniture in this place. I'm so excited I could pee my pants (figuratively speaking of course....)

26 September 2010

Really, not a lot has happened but I will post some pics anyway.

12 September 2010

So it's been awhile since I've updated this, but it was only because the building works seems to have stalled while the middle section were being built.

Here's what's happened so far...
This is the house at Lockup stage.

As you can see, lots of action happening.

View looking straight down the main driveway. It's kinda messy and dirty at the moment.

View from the main driveway of the front row houses, looking right.

There.
That's all folks.

17 July 2010

So, we went to a few auctions today and my brother put a in bid or two for a couple of properties, but alas, after a much heated and exciting bidding frenzy, we didn't win... (SNEAKY LATE BIDDING BASTARDS!)

Anyways, to wash away the heat of the moment, we went to visit my house.
And here are some pics we took today of the progress to date.

TA-DAH!

From across the street on Lawn Cres, because for some reason they have destroyed the nature strip on that side of the street... must be landscaping going in soon :)

The view from Ballarat Rd, I think there should be 15 or perhaps 16 units there... ours in somewhere in the middle. Looking pretty 'residential' dontcha think?

Imagine that! Saturday and they're still working to get my house ready for me :)

20 June 2010

Well, it's been a number of weeks since we've been to visit the site, but that's because work seems to have stalled while they centre row of units were being constructed.

I took these pics and haven't posted them up for so long. My bad. Solly solly!

So, here it is, in all its mud and glory!

The little green door has gone in, the roof is on, the bricks are going up...
And you can just start to see the frames of the centre row units coming up. Excitement for them too I'm sure. You can't really see it in this pic but for some strange reason, No 37. hasn't gone up yet... wonder why?

And here it is up close

Hehehehe, I'm so filled with excitement I don't know how I can wait that long before I move in!

Been awhile since last post

Building has stalled for now... while the middle row is being constructed

I'll head over there in the next few days to see how its all coming along....

No pics this time round. Sorry peeps.

Progress Update!

Well, actually from where I could stand, it doesn't appear that much has happened since my last visit...

But, here is yet another gratuitous shot of No. 34 to show you.
It looks like the roof is complete since the barriers at the top have disappeared.

And a whole lot of mess has been created.

I'm gonna have to arrange for a walk-through soon enough so I can see what is going on in the midst of the action. Hmm.... not sure if they will let us. Might have to arrange this with the building inspector person-thingy perhaps?

Progress update!

No. 34 - The roof is ON!
And it looks as though the back row of houses are up and ready too. I haven't been to the site during the week, but the road is all muddy and dirty, so I can just imagine how much work happens during the week. All the comings and goings of large trucks... how excitement!

And this is No. 34 up close

Bad news is, the bloody interest rates have increased again for the 6th time in 7 months. So even though we're not paying the full mortgage yet at the moment, it still doesn't do us any favours right now...

*sigh*

oh well, grin and bear it I suppose.

17 April 2010

Progress update

The frame is up and complete!
No. 34 is standing, yippee!!!!!!!!
Check it out:

Ok, so these are not ours, these are the bigger ones out the front, numbers 1-6 I believe... but is potentially what our place will look like in a few months time. Isn't it so small and quaint?? I can't wait to see ours take this shape...

Alrighty, so here's the driveway leading upto our place. Can you see it?! No. 34! That's ours!! :D It's the last double storey one at the back, on the right.

Alright alright, here's a close up. See?! SEE!? SEE???!!!!?
No. 34 bright and big.

*sigh* ain't she gorgeous??

I can't wait to see it wearing bricks and a tiled roof. It won't be long now :D

Of course, the downside to all of this is that Lu and I are now just a little bit more in debt....all that increase in interest rates doesn't help us one bit. Oh well... the bright side is, We now own a slab of concrete AND an upstanding wooden frame in the shape of a small townhouse hehehehehe

2 April 2010 - Progress Update

Well, long time between updates, I'm so terribly sorry!

Quite a few things have happened since settlement.

Construction has began.
I couldn't quite believe it, but looking at a slab of concrete had me very excited. Who would've thunk that was possible?

Construction began just before I left for Japan in Late Feb 2010. So at the moment, the builders are running to a good schedule. Fantastic news for us.

Here are some piccies we took recently, on 20th March 2010.

As you can see, some of the frames have gone up, but ours is yet to come, I reckon we give it a few more days and it should be up soon. How excitement!

Just checking out the scene

See those frames! Next will be ours

And other news?

Well, the lady at the builders that we were dealing with, who was new to the building company no longer works there.... so we have a new girl to deal with. So goodbye to Joanne, and hello to Courtney!

And the bank is messing with our confuddled mninds... there was a minor issue with the bank telling us they won't make the first payment until we pay a shortfall of around $4500. I don't know where they came up with that, but as both Lu and I were broke that month, it was a small mad scramble to try to muster that cash up to make that payment, but the turns out the bank made the first payment anyway regardless of whether we had made that payment.

Stooooopid bank!

Apparently we will be required to make another payment of around $7000 for the next payment... at least this time, we will be more prepared for that one.

Nick has been wonderful however, he hasn't managed to explain to my feeble mind why there is an outlay, although our calculations show that we still have a $10,000 payment to go.... coming from our own deposit amount. If that makes sense to you, good luck :)

Anyhoos, I can not wait for the next stage!

Settlement of Land, DONE!

We are now proud owners of a small piece of Braybrook with lots of weeds and dirt and not much else.

24 January 2010

Went to take some pics of the block before anything starts building...

Dad said that they have already begun the excavating, so we had to be quick.

See, they have started pouring the concrete slabs for the units at the front, the big 4 bedroom ones. This view looks directly onto our little piece of land riiiiiiiiiight at the back near the back fence :) Nothing there yet, just a few pegs at the moment....

The main driveway. This will be the driveway that leads towards our unit, straight ahead and to the left. Excitement!

Good to know that Les will be our site manager.... in case I ever have to call him. Whoever you are, Les.

Just a big block of nothing at the moment....

14 January 2010

At the beginning of this week, it was confirmed that the settlement of the land will take place on 19th January, very exciting news!

Anyways, today we get an email from our solicitor saying the vendor's solicitors are still away on holidays and won't be back until next week, so that doesn't leave them a lot of time to get the things they need to get ready. Such Dumbasses.

They were the ones that had wanted to settle asap, giving us not much time to coordinate the loan-y type things with the bank and giving my mortgage broker, Nick, a very stressful time and probably making him lose even more hair from his already balding head.....

So anyway, new settlement date will be 28 January 2010.
Standby!
