Progress update

The frame is up and complete!
No. 34 is standing, yippee!!!!!!!!
Check it out:

Ok, so these are not ours, these are the bigger ones out the front, numbers 1-6 I believe... but is potentially what our place will look like in a few months time. Isn't it so small and quaint?? I can't wait to see ours take this shape...

Alrighty, so here's the driveway leading upto our place. Can you see it?! No. 34! That's ours!! :D It's the last double storey one at the back, on the right.

Alright alright, here's a close up. See?! SEE!? SEE???!!!!?
No. 34 bright and big.

*sigh* ain't she gorgeous??

I can't wait to see it wearing bricks and a tiled roof. It won't be long now :D

Of course, the downside to all of this is that Lu and I are now just a little bit more in debt....all that increase in interest rates doesn't help us one bit. Oh well... the bright side is, We now own a slab of concrete AND an upstanding wooden frame in the shape of a small townhouse hehehehehe

2 April 2010 - Progress Update

Well, long time between updates, I'm so terribly sorry!

Quite a few things have happened since settlement.

Construction has began.
I couldn't quite believe it, but looking at a slab of concrete had me very excited. Who would've thunk that was possible?

Construction began just before I left for Japan in Late Feb 2010. So at the moment, the builders are running to a good schedule. Fantastic news for us.

Here are some piccies we took recently, on 20th March 2010.

As you can see, some of the frames have gone up, but ours is yet to come, I reckon we give it a few more days and it should be up soon. How excitement!

Just checking out the scene

See those frames! Next will be ours

And other news?

Well, the lady at the builders that we were dealing with, who was new to the building company no longer works there.... so we have a new girl to deal with. So goodbye to Joanne, and hello to Courtney!

And the bank is messing with our confuddled mninds... there was a minor issue with the bank telling us they won't make the first payment until we pay a shortfall of around $4500. I don't know where they came up with that, but as both Lu and I were broke that month, it was a small mad scramble to try to muster that cash up to make that payment, but the turns out the bank made the first payment anyway regardless of whether we had made that payment.

Stooooopid bank!

Apparently we will be required to make another payment of around $7000 for the next payment... at least this time, we will be more prepared for that one.

Nick has been wonderful however, he hasn't managed to explain to my feeble mind why there is an outlay, although our calculations show that we still have a $10,000 payment to go.... coming from our own deposit amount. If that makes sense to you, good luck :)

Anyhoos, I can not wait for the next stage!
